Munchers or known as "Black Pakkun" in Japan are black plants that are indestructible species of Piranha plants, which first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 at Stage 5-3 of "The Sky".

They are like spikes that would damage Mario and Luigi when they touch it. But the Goomba's Shoe and Yoshis can walk on them without harm. They are about the size of a Nipper Plant, but are firmly planted in the ground like a Piranha Plant, making them immobile.
